What I like most about this vacuum cleaner is what I like least about it. It is compact, light and manoeuvrable. But the small size also means a small canister. I have 5 cats and live in a very dusty area. When I was a kid growing up in the suburbs, my mom used to dust once a week and it was almost never necessary. I've lived in the city for most of my adult life and weekly dusting is a must - there's always a thin layer of dust on furniture. This also causes dust to settle on the carpets. I have a full size Bissell canister but I hate carrying it around. In order to use it to vacuum thoroughly, you have to move the furniture. It takes me an hour to tidy up the living and dining area of about 800 square meters. ft. Since I hate vacuuming I don't do it as often as I should so I have to stop about 4 times to empty the bin. .The first time with Shark I only had about 10 square meters and had to empty the canister twice. So before I attempted to search my entire apartment, I did a thorough cleaning with Bissell. I spent an hour and a half rearranging and thoroughly cleaning the furniture. Now I use Shark 2-3 times a week and since it's easier for me to move around in small spaces I don't have to move furniture so I can get it done in about 15-20 minutes. I like that the blades don't tangle in hair and long coats. I should point out that the furniture nozzle doesn't have the blade system that the main vacuum has. It has bristles so I had to stop after using it to detangle the fur. Two of my cats have long hair. I was initially annoyed that the vacuum won't stay upright when assembled until I discovered a small hook on the front to hang the hand piece on which the vacuum stabilizes so it's not 'top heavy'. Despite my initial concerns about the size, I'm giving it 5 stars because once I've found it works beautifully!
