
In the end when I got the knives I got a decent edge but initially I had some problems with the "edge sharpening". Stone because the stone itself wasn't even out of the box. Finally I found some good videos on YouTube that suggested rubbing the stone along the back of porcelain stoneware until smooth and once I did that it was a lot easier. to gain a good/permanent/permanent advantage. I feel like I wouldn't have to do this with a brand new stone...
