Review on πŸ”Œ Carded Socket Saver 2-inch by Jones Stephens Corp by Jeff Langford

Works backwards! Not for removing 2 " CPVC

Works with 3/8" 20V DC power drill. Soapy water as a coolant (I used Dawn dish soap and H2O), remove the shavings as you go or they'll get stuck. Let them cut and not force them. First, use a file or sandpaper to make the end where you start smooth and square, making sure to deburr well so the cutter goes in evenly and square to the hole. It takes a little patience, a steady hand, a good eye and time to work. Good even pressure and chip control to see if the feed rate is right. Concentrate on staying perpendicular to the ground and parallel to the center line of the hole. Remove chips frequently to relieve pressure and stay cool. Sand down the inner hole to smooth it out when you're done and any remnants of the old fitting have been removed. I used it on a Jandy 3 way valve and 90 degree elbow. Both were glued in 2.0" Schedule 40 PVC. This WILL NOT WORK when attempting to remove gray CPVC from a 2.0" fitting as the CPVC ID is too small for the guide plug. The gray material is an electrical conduit for laying wires, and not suitable for plumbing fixtures (I consider liquid my main purpose).

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Empty
