Bought a TL-SG1024D 24-port gigabit switch to replace a small NetGear 8-port gigabit switch. After I replaced the old switch with a new one, I started getting random connection errors. After running network surveys, I found that the switch was advertising the MAC address. Since there are no other TP-Link devices on my network, I was sure the MAC address came from the switch. Just to be sure, I replaced the TP-Link switch with an old NetGear switch and Viola, the problem was gone. I reported this issue to TP-Link over a month ago and the problem persists. TP-Link insists that there is another TP-Link device on my network and that the switch is not the problem. I have provided all the details requested by TP-Link support and a month later I still haven't found a solution. If you're like me, you buy with both value and functionality in mind. I bought this for a small lab network, not a data center. My purchasing decision was based on the fact that the switch was reasonably priced given its intended use. I went with a cheaper product, fully expecting that the manufacturer would support their product if it didn't work. Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that TP-Link is not responsible for their products and if you happen to purchase a faulty product your word will be against them. and guess who has the last word. To be honest I've bought TP-Link devices in the past and haven't had any issues. This is the first time I've encountered an issue and had to report it to TP-Link. The experience was so bad and such a waste of time that I decided not to buy anything from TP-Link anymore.
