Review on ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Easy to Use GPS Navigation For Dummies FD-220 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Peter Caw

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Easy to use and portable

This was my first GPS and I didn't have many devices to compare other than the ones I use in rental cars. One thing that struck me about this device is that it has a large and comfortable screen that allows you to navigate quickly. The menus seemed fine in general, but many I'd say key points of interest (POI) aren't available, which I think is one of the two downsides of this GPS. Secondly, in many cases, despite the fact that the signal strength is okay, it does not receive a signal quickly, sometimes even after 10 seconds. It's easy to miss, especially if you don't slow down and wait for the second signal. I believe it has more to do with satellite coverage or maybe a roadmap update issue. I have a feeling that the GPS car itself is fine but it is mismanaged in terms of regular updates, maintenance etc. A little about the company - the 12V GPS car charger began to malfunction after rare and careful use within 3 years -4 months after purchase. As it was a hardware issue and it was still within the 1 year warranty period I did not contact the seller but contacted the company twice with all the paperwork needed for a replacement/refund. Although I correctly described the case and attached the required documents, they have not responded in the last two months. I was beginning to think that the next time I bought a GPS I would consider a more established and excellently run/updated brand with genuine customer service.
