I am using the SUNWAYFOTO DYK-68 Leveling Base on an iFootage Cobra-2 Monopod. This was the thinnest and lightest aligner I found and it works well for my intended use. Combined with the versatile 50mm quick release clamp, it allows flexible mounting of the Tamron G-2 telephoto lens from 150mm to 600mm on the EOS-R5. The movement is quick and fluid when unlocked, but solid and firm when locked. This base is compact and the concentric locking ring works well. I particularly like the low profile of this base and that the concentric retaining ring doesn't increase the size of the base like a typical protruding locking knob. The lower base plate fits the Cobra 2 monopod mounting surface, while the upper fold-out platform fits well with the 50mm ARCA-Swiss QR clamp. An angled set screw will hold the ARCA clamp in place fairly well when properly adjusted (don't over tighten this screw). The construction seems solid and reliable. There's some dampening blur when fully unlocked, but with a long lens mounted it's not enough to significantly slow down rapid camera and lens positioning. A load of 10kg is more than enough for any camera and lens combination I will ever use on a monopod. The tiny bubble level on the top plate is essentially a cosmetic device. It's too small and low resolution to be of any real use and it ends up being obscured by a top mounted ARCA clamp or pan/tilt head where it could well have stayed. It's essentially "eyewash" for amateurs. The leveler I received included adapters with 1/4-20 to 3/8-16 threads for each end so it can be used with any size threads on the base plate and/or sloped top plate. Also included was an Allen key for the top plate rotation lock set screw. I only have one small issue with the design: the bottom mounting plate has a perfectly smooth outer perimeter. This prevents the leveling base from simply screwing onto a monopod or tripod. Providing a serrated surface or drilling multiple radial holes in the surface to allow the insertion of a hex wrench or pin to provide leverage when installing the leveling base will make tightening securely much easier. Overall it's well made and fairly well designed +/- 15 degrees. Leveling base that increases the weight and size of the equipment. There should be enough capacity for all but the heaviest camera and lens combinations.
