Never heard of it. Idea to cook chicken vertically. It can only cook smaller chickens - only up to a certain weight. The Ofenvogel is too big for that. The bottom bowl is for collecting drips that can be used for the sauce. I would like a bigger bowl. I was afraid the drops would spill over, so I put it in the pan. The chicken is well prepared. The skin turned brown and crispy. The chicken turned out very juicy and aromatic.
