Seems to work but doesn't seem to be what you need in safety gear
I can pull some of my serrated knives straight out with very little effort (baby power) even though they appear to be the same gauge as knives he is holding. With more force, I can pull many other 1 inches, enough to cut me. It's also very light, not sure if this is a feature or a bug but my 3 year old can certainly take it whole or take it off the counter with ease. So it works and I keep using it like it's better than nothing, but I've had to put a few knives away. I don't think he keeps his promise.
