Review on TERAPUMP 4th Gen - Fuel Transfer Pump | No More Lifting Gas Cans | Fits Multiple Gas Cans (Advanced Auto-Stop Sensor & Flexible Inlet/Outlet Hose) by Tom Motko

Good idea, poorly implemented

I was very happy to find this pump. I thought this would solve the problem of our teenagers filling up our personal jet ski with gas. Due to the ridiculous placement of the fill tube, using a standard gas cylinder requires enough strength to control 5 gallons of gasoline at shoulder height and be able to tip the cylinder when the jet ski's fuel tank is full. I thought this pump was the bomb! Unfortunately it isn't. The pump had several defects.1. The standard fitting on the pump will not fit a standard 5 gallon gas canister.2. There are four different adapters that solve this problem, but the adapters don't change the pump, they change the tank. That is, to use the pump, you must first put the adapter on the glass, and then screw on the pump. Which requires keeping up with the free adapter.3. The supply hose is too short to reach the watercraft fill hole.4. This meant that the canister had to be placed on a jet ski (instead of a jetty) for refueling. After installing the pump on the watercraft and activating the pump, we found that the connection between the adapter and the pump was not positive, causing gasoline to spill onto the watercraft.6. I tried to establish the connection. But it didn't help. I'm not sure where the leak was because I immediately discarded the pump, put the nozzle back on the canister and completed the refill with no issues. I had a gasoline accident that took me another 15 minutes to clean up.7. Even if the pump was working properly, it would still be a problem. Please note that you will have a feed tube that you will need to insert piece by piece. After refueling you have to remove it, which means you will drip fuel from the filler neck. Even if you leave your pump attached to a bottle until next use, you will need to remove the umbilical from one bottle and plug it into another. Therefore, the operation entails dripping gasoline on any surface where the cans were placed. I'm not a big fan of dripping gasoline. My advice is to stay away from this pump. I will return it as it is dangerous for both the user and the environment.
