Bought prior to a 3 week trip of over 7000 miles and needed it to reassure! Before my trip I wasn't sure if I would stay in hotels or use Airbnb. One of my Airbnb experiences a few years ago was with Jack and Jill's bathroom with no lock on the door leading to the room I was staying in. to my room. So after researching I settled on this product but was hesitant to order one or two. I wasn't expecting to have another room with Jack and Jill's bathroom so booked one rather than two for this trip. Turns out I never stayed in an Airbnb on this trip, but it gave me peace of mind a few times. One hotel I stayed in had a loose deadbolt lock that could not be tightened. Instead of moving all my belongings to another room, I was able to use this door lock to feel safe. Two other times I had adjoining rooms with a second door without a slide lock and using this in addition to the handle lock made me feel more comfortable. At a gas station when I was using the family room facilities, the gas station attendant began unlocking my door for another customer who was unaware that someone was in the restroom. I realized that you can also use this device in similar situations. It was worth every penny and I would happily buy two! I plan on keeping it in my purse because you never know when it might come in handy. As mentioned before, practice installing it at home before you actually have to use it.
