Review on High-Speed USB 3.1 Gen 2 Expansion Card with Type A+Type C Ports for Windows & Linux - Asmedia Chipset, 10 Gbps Transfer Rate by Dave Sidhu

Cheap and fast!: Internal components

I installed this card in the second video slot (PCIe x8) because my system doesn't have PCIe x 4 slots Windows 10 Version 1709 Build 16299.192. Windows installed the UASP device and drivers automatically at boot. Using a StarTech 3.1 UASP compatible external drive enclosure I purchased from Revain and a SATA 6Gb/s SSD I already had on hand, I immediately noticed an impressive increase in speed compared to when the enclosure was attached to mine built-in UASP-compatible USB 3.0 port was connected. I then tested a clean install with CrystalDiskMark 5 and was amazed by the results. Especially when it comes to typing. My Macrium Reflect 7 system drive image improved from 42 minutes to 27 minutes. Wow, Nellie! Before purchasing, please check if your system has an available PCIe x4 slot or higher as this card will not physically fit in a PCIe x1 slot. This card has an Asmedia ASM1142 chipset, so x1 will be too slow anyway.
