When my '89 Ford Ranger's rebuilt automatic transmission started choking on fluid while I was waiting for this thing to shift into drive mode, it would start to freewheel in corners, requiring a constant topping up etc. I was already ready to sell the item for scrap. A friend suggested I look for some type of sealant for the transmission seal and I found it on Amazon. I followed the instructions verbatim, including one tablespoon per liter of transmission, which I determined from the transmission fluid volume. For Ranger, that was just 6 tablespoons of Blue Devil. I also carefully added some ATF (automatic transmission fluid) up to the grip line, being careful to measure when the engine was warm and running and adding Blue Devil as instructed with the engine off. I did it at the end of October and so far so good.
