Review on ๐Ÿณ Calphalon Classic 5-Quart Sautรฉ Pan: Nonstick, Hard-Anodized with Cover by Danny Kamerer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

This pan looks great when hard anodized.

is good, this pan looks great using hard anodized pans. However, I couldn't even use mine! I've washed my hands in warm soapy water 4 <FOUR!> times, even once with a nylon sponge, and black spots still appear on the towel I use to wipe the pan. I can only assume that this black substance will soak into the food I cook in this pan, which is why I haven't used it at the moment. Is there anyone else who has experienced the same thing? I would like the manufacturer to help me with this. What is that black thing? I put a photo of what comes out of the pot on a kitchen towel. This mirrors what I see on the towel when I use three fingers to wipe the pan dry. UPDATE: I contacted Calphalon directly and have to say they were more than helpful in sending me a replacement skillet. Unfortunately my review has to remain the same as I had the exact same issue with a new pan. That's enough for me. I don't have the time/energy to continue doing this so not only did I lose the pot I really needed but also the original cost. Does anyone know if these pans can be recycled? I'm not sure how to get rid of what I have. One more thing. the "black substance" remains unidentified. Calfalon couldn't identify it either and said it could be something from my dishwasher, but I've never put this pan in the dishwasher. <twitches>
