We have a black lab mix and want a high contrast color but not red. We got him a blueberry striped collar and leash and the light purple and blue hues look great! He looks very charming in these colors. I was interested in trying martingales because I've heard good things from trainers, vets, and the shelter we adopted our dog from. It sits comfortably on it without feeling unsafe and I feel like it gives me great control over it when walking. I think it handles a martingale better than a full harness when walking, and now it takes me less than ten minutes to put it on and take it off to prepare for a walk. He no longer wants to run and pull forward, he is much more responsive to commands and directions during walks. He walks beside me and regularly looks at me, which is a huge improvement! He was very proud of his new look when we first put it on and he went around showing it off all day. This is a quality brand with great design. We also like that it's reflective without sacrificing aesthetics. Our pup is very large which makes him heavy but with a very lanky body so collar size charts don't usually fit him. Although his weight indicates large, he would be too big for his neck. Luckily I already knew that from him and decided on a medium that fits perfectly.
