I ordered two of these items in slightly different sizes for the two main entrances of my house. We recently installed a wooden floor and needed something to catch dirt, dust and, to our shame, any litter our two cats carry out of the litter boxes. The one in the hallway between the garage door and the laundry room that houses the trays helps catch stray debris and prevents it from being blown away or rolling onto the hardwood floor. Once or twice a week I pick it up, shake it out (outside) and put it back in fresh and ready for my work. These mats are not soft on the feet. They probably shouldn't be soaked or covered in dirt. However, they hide dirt and pollution like no other. We've had several cat events that took place right on the carpets and it's crazy that after a quick clean there wasn't a trace of the mess left. A few things to keep in mind: 1) Carpets slide on wood. Floors. I'll buy a non-slip pad for the one by the front door. 2) They have some height so you need about 1/2 inch clearance between the floor and the door. It seemed difficult to us because the floors are quite high and the front door has rubber seals at the bottom. Overall, I really like the natural look and stain-resistant properties of these rugs!
