Review on USBGear USB to Serial Adapter RS-232 DB-9 Male - Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7 and Mac by Predrag Hall

I liked that Windows 10 recognized it right away and loaded drivers for it, no hard drive required. This adapter is mechanically exactly the same as the COM port found on XP and older computers. I connected my radio programming cable to it and the computer found it in 2 seconds. Communication to and from the radio was flawless. I don't know why the other reviewers are complaining about the female studs, maybe they don't know what a proper COM port should look like? I've noticed some other devices like this that have the correct plugs but have socket plug retaining screws instead of the nuts on a socket, but they are not standard COM sockets by definition and are mechanical instead. distortion of the original concept. I can't find anything wrong with this device, except maybe that it could use a slightly longer cable.
