    Mini CD was a problem

    I needed a USB to serial connection for windows and mac, fortunately it worked on both systems without problems but if I had to install any software on my macbook I would have i done it problems. The software mini-CD cannot be loaded from a CD drive. Consider sending a full-size CD that works with all readers in the future.

    Works great, easy to install with Windows 7 but not Windows 10

    I've been playing around with Windows 10 for several hours using this USB to serial adapter. I used the driver disk that came with it. Could never get it to work. With Windows 7, however, it was easy. Connect and play for 10-15 minutes. No driver disk required. Then it worked like clockwork. I was able to download and install new firmware for my ioptron telescope mount.

    Great little tool: Serial adapters

    Very useful device. Incredibly tolerant of everything I've done to him. Worked perfectly with included drivers (on 7cm CD) in Windows XP and XP Pro. Ubuntu recognized it with native drivers. Works correctly with any baud rate on Windows, but requires a bit more work on Linux. On Ubuntu it works correctly with default 16550 UART speeds out of the box. Neatly assembled and sturdy for its size. Good quality sockets on both ends (USB and DB9). Recommended for the price.

    If you need to add RS-232

    I have two of these. I plug them in and they just work. I have a computer connected to my firewall's console port in case I need to communicate with it that way. I keep the other in my tool bag in case I need to connect other network devices. Prefabrication of some network equipment for which this would be invaluable. Sometimes you need a COM port.     Works great on Windows 10 64 bit Plug and Play

    I liked that Windows 10 recognized it right away and loaded drivers for it, no hard drive required. This adapter is mechanically exactly the same as the COM port found on XP and older computers. I connected my radio programming cable to it and the computer found it in 2 seconds. Communication to and from the radio was flawless. I don't know why the other reviewers are complaining about the female studs, maybe they don't know what a proper COM port should look like? I've noticed some other…
