has acquired this xfinity for gigabit triple play. I activated it online and it works like a charm. I see several reviews complaining about the activation process, that's how it happened. Unplug your old modem and plug it in. Do not connect the router yet. Wait a few minutes for the modem to connect to xfinity. Connect your computer to one of the RJ45 ports and launch your favorite browser. Activation is displayed. If not, wait a little and try to update it. Confirm your identity by answering the questions and also enter the code they send you. After that the modem will configure itself and you will be informed that everything is set up and give you your phone numbers. .Wait another 10-15 minutes, disconnect the computer from the modem and connect the modem to the router. Reboot your router and modem and you should be online. just be patient The hardware takes time to adapt. Took me about 30 minutes and everything is online. I didn't have to call xfinity. The phone works too. Much luck.
