These long tipped pencil sharpeners are great if you are picky about your pencil. Sharpening the wood and then cleaning the lead is a two-step process, but it's worth it. You don't have to pay extra for this Blackwing model though, as it's identical to my other long-tipped KUM sharpeners. My only star is that all of these sharpeners seem a bit finicky when it comes to sharpening. Blade Tension: It loosens a bit and the set screw needs adjusting (maybe I'm sharpening too coarse). Two extra blades are hidden in the compartment where the scraps fall, I completely missed them at first!
