Love these guys, best value for money, does what you want and looks good. On their website they give "floating" options in the instructions if you just click on the board. To do this, you need to enlarge the holes in the deck by drilling. Do not do that! Firstly I now feel like my boards (did it on two before stopping) seem damaged, not sure how well the trucks will work if I ever plan to use them. Also, they don't feel all that secure just floating, especially since I have them over my front door and the vibrations from closing the door can knock them over. Just use the locking method, just don't over tighten or the nuts won't damage the board.
