Review on πŸ“€ Kanguru DVDrw Drive: Your Essential Solution for DVD Read and Write Tasks by Dean Gomatham

Strong and durable - external components

I love this machine. I ordered it because I finally got around to copying all the music from CDs to my computer. I have about 500-600 discs. I used one of the ubiquitous thin-style external drives since the original is long dead in my tower. The thin drive got very hot after a few rides, and that bothered me. He also had trouble reading some CDs, including one that was slightly warped. The Kangaroo had no problem reading a warped CD with a full disc tray. Also, Kanguru has a constantly running fan that helps my project. I also like the size of the machine and the strength of the rubber feet to keep the machine from humming like a skinny drive, which I'm sure contributed to skinny drive failures as well. I still have the old Dell. XP works. This drive worked on the "plug and play" principle, there was no headache at all. When ripping a warped CD, I used iTunes to create Apple Lossless files with error protection enabled (since I've had so many errors with this CD in the past). It worked great, iTunes report speed was over 30 times and the process took less than 2 minutes.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
