I have 3 problems with it otherwise I would give 5 stars. First, the knife slot closes at the top, so to open it you have to stick your fingernail in to insert the knife, which is annoying. Second, the base doesn't lock at a right angle. So unless you are VERY careful your cut will not be straight. Third, we bought this because we bought a bread maker. I'm sure most bread makers are standard size. however, the bread does not fit snugly in the slot. You have to crush it a little to get it. So. I gave 3 stars because the price is right.
