Review on 🌬️ A/C Safe AC-160 Universal Heavy-Duty Window Air Conditioning Support Bracket by Dale Emmel

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Warning, MacGuyvering may be required.

I bought this with my Frigidaire 15,100 BTU 115v Median Air Conditioner and was looking forward to some summer weather relief. I've written a fairly lengthy review of the air conditioner expressing some of my feelings about this kit, but I'll elaborate on that here. My first impulse in rating this product was to give it five stars because it works well. and firmly supports our 100 pound air conditioner. After considering the tests my husband put through the installation, we agreed that three stars would be much more appropriate. I'm not whining about how easy it is or being able to do it blindfolded, but about the gear itself and the clutch lever that has become necessary. This kit is called universal. That's a lie. He also doesn't do much to offer advice on the proper assembly procedure when it comes to right-handed or left-handed heavy blocks, other than tell you about it. Being able to think critically and use common sense the latter didn't matter much but it would be nice to get more guidance and advice on how to handle the situation as it turned out that our unit on the stood on the left. As for the former, we were furious when he said it was universal if it was only for single windows and not windows with any type of sill rail. Call me gibberish, but in my experience windows with paths are much more common these days than windows without paths. Because of this, my husband had to make it work like a mad MacGyver with our window. This was an additional problem that could have been avoided if the product had been properly named or important information had been included in the product description. Nobody should search through reviews to look for relevant information. I hope this review helps you or at least amuses you with pictures of the AC mount MacGyverg man with stuff we had at home.
