Good for metal cables.

not so good on synthetic cables. Synthetic cables are much thinner than their metal counterparts and this only tends to slip over plastic. I keep it attached to my quad with synthetic rope anyway so the hook doesn't snag on the winch rails. They have worked well for me since I received them some time ago.
