As far as whistles go, it's not the easiest to learn and not necessarily the loudest, but for the price it does the job. Practice makes perfect, so be prepared to take it with you if you (assuming you're the only person) traveling in the car. You should be able to master at least 2 octaves, maybe a little more. Allow it to warm up in your mouth before using as cold plastic needs to be warm to work well. If you have experience with the shepherd's pipe, it's the same. I made a cord for it so I can wear it around my neck when not in use. In general I am satisfied with them. The price was good and for now it's reliable enough for what I need it for.
