You need strong hands to fix the cable length. Once you install and forget it, it works fine. My daughter uses it with a trolley to carry her baritone saxophone case. She likes it better than other bungee cords because she doesn't have to wrap it multiple times to get good tension. If you find yourself wanting to adjust the length frequently, look elsewhere. It's not that easy to adjust and I think the cable will wear out quickly over time from constantly being pulled in and out of those gripping teeth.
