Just a little wobbly, but otherwise sturdy and solid.

As a DIYer I have installed dozens and dozens of these mailboxes and consider this one of the best. Once you've gathered a few parts, you can put them together in under ten minutes. However, if this is your first, follow the instructions in the order presented. The hardest part is combining the different sections that need to be rotated. They never seem to align properly. You'll have to squeeze a little to get everything together properly, but if you're careful the results should be good. My only concern is that the top half will feel a little wobbly once assembled, but there's not much that can be done about that. Being a very popular model, I see many of these around town and it amazes me how many of them are assembled or installed incorrectly or are too close to the road just begging to be plowed. Just use your noodles, folks! It is best to dig a hole about two feet from the side of the road with a backhoe. Throw 4 feet long, press 4 x 4 and uncover two feet or a little more. Add cement (50 to 60 lb bag) and water to the hole around the post and use a spirit level to make sure it is vertical (level). The assembled mailbox slides straight down the rack with the bottom at floor level. If you are attaching a mailbox to a wooden post, keep this level handy to keep it vertical. A set of 3" reflective number stickers will need to be fitted, but wipe down the mailbox first with some rubbing alcohol to help them stick.
