Tried everything and nothing worked
Tried many ways to make it work Couldn't move it. We tried glue, a sticky base, several coats of varnish, they did not give anything good. Finally tried applying a primer directly to the back and letting it dry and then removing the decals. Although literally 3 coats of paint were glued on, there were still holes in the foil. Not to mention the problems with the top coat. I even bought a water based furniture polish for the top coat. This worked best, but still deformed the foil. Either mine was broken or those of you who got it working must be nail technicians. You're going to hell!
