Great mask - keeps ears dry and protected!

I have always had trouble balancing my ears and on my first certification dive I punctured both eardrums. I discovered this mask while researching what I need to do to dive and if I can even dive with a perforated eardrum. This is an incredible mask and has allowed me to dive with everyone I have traveled with despite my ear issues. First of all, this is a good quality mask: I never had any problems with lens fogging (I had with my previous mask) and the front seals fit my face perfectly. The "ear cups" are attached to a strap on either side of the head and look a little strange at first glance. The ear cups are adjustable independently of the mask strap, so most users should be able to adjust the settings to suit their needs. Once you've put the entire mask on, you can check the seal by inhaling: the front mask fits me perfectly, but I heard a whistling sound as air entered the ear cups. At first I was very concerned about this; However, when the mask is wet and you are actually in the water, the seal is much better. When testing the mask at home and also when putting it on before diving, make sure that the entire mask is wet - this is the only way for the ear cushions to sit firmly on your head. snuggle up to your face like any mask. When you breathe air into the mask through your nose, the air also goes directly into the ear cups. The pressure on the ears is the same as any other mask, but the adjustment is slower and your ears stay dry, reducing the risk of infection. I clear my ears with this mask like everyone else. Being hearing impaired I sometimes have to descend slower than others in my group but this only sets me back about a minute and once I reach the maximum depth of the dive I no longer have any problems with my ears. I have lowered this mask to depths of up to 100 feet with no problem. The fit around the ears is not ideal; I'd say it's fully sealed for me about 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time, a small amount of water escapes during the dive. In the 30 dives I've used the mask on, I've never had my earbuds fully inflated - leaks are very slow when they are. When water did get in, it was enough for me to notice but not enough to bother me - I've never stopped a dive because of water getting in my ears. Cleaning the mask: If water has entered, you can clean the entire mask including the ear. Cups. The main mask cleans in the same way as a standard mask: when you take in water and exhale through your nose to clean it, the water doesn't flow back through the tubes to your ears. If you want to clean the ear pads, it's a bit tricky but very effective: use both hands to press the mask firmly against your face and the ear you don't want to clean firmly against your head. Press the TOP of the pinna you want to clean against your head, then exhale slowly. You should be able to hear air coming out of the bottom of the ear pad you're trying to clean! I've done this a few times successfully at about 75 feet. This is a great mask and I probably couldn't dive without it. Recommended for anyone with hearing problems!
