Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works with E470i-A0. Overall a mediocre remote control.

This remote works with my new Vizio Smart TV and seems to do all the functions well. The quality seems a bit better than the standard remote, like it's heavier, but both remotes seem pretty low quality for a $600 device. Vizio needs to count every penny, which is said to be reflected in the cheap price of this device. Such cheap plastic remote controls may only last a few years, but you can extend that lifespan by purchasing a second remote control. The QWERTZ keyboard works quite well; The keys are usable and respond quite positively. But it's frustrating that Netflix's search mode doesn't respond quickly and evenly to the keyboard; Revain's UI seems to be better. One side of the remote needs to be pointed at the TV for it to connect - it seems best to hold the keyboard in front of you and keep your hands off the front. Overall it's decent enough for the money, almost like the Vizio TV itself. The main limitations are inherent to Vizio applications for internet services. They're mediocre and a bit clunky, but better than tying up a computer or having another $99 SLB (Stupid Little Box). All you have to do is exhale and let go of the idea that an extra 10 seconds to turn on a computer function is an awfully long time. My dad had to lug the curse around the room and turn the fine tune knob on our black and white TV and go outside on windy days and turn the antenna back to New York, so it's really not that bad here. I will add my experience with M-GO if any.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
