Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite sponges for use in every room of the house

I have been using Scotch Brite sponges for as long as I can remember. Of all the Scotch Brite sponges, I like the non-scratch sponges the best. I've tried other brands including generic store brands and nothing cleans like a Scotch Brite sponge. Scotch-Brite sponges have a soft sponge on one side and a cleaning surface on the other. Sponge size 4.4" x 2.5" x 0.8". 9 sponges per pack. The cleaning side of the sponge is made from 100% recycled material. Recycled material does not affect performance, shape or form in any way. I have found these sponges to be very durable. I will be using the same sponges around my house for a month. I wash them with Dawn Original dishwashing liquid after each use and sterilize them in the microwave once a week. To sterilize the sponge use I mean microwave. I wet the sponge and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes, let it cool for 15 minutes and then remove it from the microwave. You can also put the sponge in the dishwasher at a temperature above 155 degrees Fahrenheit and wash on a heated cycle.Sterilizing the sponge and keeping it clean makes the Scotch-Brite sponge clean like new every time you use it.What I love about these sponges is that when I it cleans, the material does not fall apart, tear or leave pieces like other brands of sponges do. I use multiple sponges around the house. In the kitchen I have one that I use on the stove and countertops and another that I use to wash dishes, chopping boards and the like. In the bathroom I have one for the bath and shower, one for the toilet and one for the countertop. These sponges hold up very well over time. At home I mostly wash with white vinegar and some sponges break under acid. This does not apply to Scotch-Brite sponges. You have no problem with vinegar. The vinegar keeps the sponge from smelling. I am confident that these sponges will not scratch the surface and I have been using these sponges for five years since installing the countertop and the sponges have never left any scratches. When washing dishes, I can use a sponge to clean the inside. seasoned cast iron skillet and it will not remove the seasoning unlike other brands of scrubbing pads. The scrubber side is great for removing burnt marks on our stainless steel cookware and won't leave scratches. In the summer, I cut these sponges in half and use a cable tie to tie the three cut sponges together to form a sponge ball. Center. Then you have a safety ball that holds a lot of water and is a great way to stay cool. I've also used these sponges in the freezer to make wet ice packs. I soak the sponge, put it in a ziplock plastic bag and let it freeze completely. A layer of ice is applied to the sponge, after which you can use it as an ice pack. The water is absorbed by the sponge, so it won't drip or spill as it melts. I used to use these sponges in my preschool class on my painting days. I used a template to cut out the basic shapes (hearts, stars, moons, squares and circles) and then cut out the shapes. The children could then dip the sponge into the paint and press it onto the paper. I've even used Scotch Brite to seal envelopes for Christmas and greeting cards. It's definitely better than licking envelopes. Of course, you can also use the non-cleaning side to do this. Scotch-Brite sponges are durable, scratch-resistant, affordable, and easy to find in stores. I have never come across a brand of sponge that surpasses Scotch Brite.
