I had an old Hunter model that I loved for almost 10 years. No wonder it eventually stopped working. I bought this to replace it. While it improves air, it's a lot louder than the old model. In addition to loud white noise, there is a shrill whistling from the dial area, it's just amazing. It's used in the bedroom so I'll probably have to return if the whistling continues. Disappointed in Hunter.
