A must have if you travel with inReach and want to carry it on your shoulder. Velcro straps help you attach it to your backpack's shoulder straps, and it stayed on my Zpacks Arc Haul perfectly. The Velcro that holds the inReach clip to the shoulder piece isn't the strongest, but it's enough to keep it where it needs to be. To reattach, simply press firmly against your shoulder. I'm deducting a star because the cable installed on this unit is very bulky and gets caught on the velcro. It also broke when I took it out of the box. So I replaced it with a very thin dyneema line I had laying around and it's perfect. The cord no longer sticks to the Velcro and this is a much simpler harness but with longer durability. This strap attaches to the new inReach released in 2017 and is the same clip-on attachment kit as on older models. I love that this tether has a quick release buckle. So if you need to detach the inReach from your backpack, it's super easy. Simply lift the edge of the clip and it detaches from the inReach and slides off in no time.
