Does not provide adequate protection for your Garmin device.

The backpack harness is exactly as described on the website. In my experience, when a Garmin device is placed in the mount, it is not very secure. The device is inserted from above, but is loose. Only a slight upward force is required to detach the device from the cable. As such, I will be using the strap and carabiner that comes with the Garmin inReach Mini instead of using the backpack strap. See attached video for details.

Garmin Tether is the best car mount

This is exactly what I was looking for, easy to carry and quick access to my Garmin device. I wish the straps were more functional. They are too big for the belt I wear my Yeti Rumbler on. I gave this a 3 because I haven't had it long, I've only used it to try tying it to various items I have and the cord is falling apart. I did what the other reviewer did and bought paracord, but that caused a whole bunch of problems. If they used paracord things would be a lot better. Also, it would be niceโ€ฆ

Garmin stay tuned!

I have a Garmin SE+ and my dog has an Inreach Mini. He's being trained to work with SAR - and the SAR button on the side is key for me. This can be tied perfectly to his harness and stays on when he walks through the undergrowth without a leash. I can track him wherever he is. although it comes back very well when I call, so on rare occasions it doesn't - I know how to find it! I also attach a carabiner to the harness just in case, but so far a month of off-road excursions, trackingโ€ฆ

Designed for Garmin

This product is easy to install and use with my Garmin ETREX 32x. It provides general protection against Garmin device loss and also improves satellite functionality. The backpack strap attachment consists of two Velcro straps around the shoulder strap. Garmin has better access to satellites in this position. The device itself simply snaps securely onto a removable separate Velcro strap and attaches to the base to prevent loss. To use it, simply pull the snap tab away from the base. The strapโ€ฆ

Does half of what it's supposed to.

The cord has kept my Harmine from falling out of my pocket more than once. The velcro that holds the leash to the bag works well and the strap I found is well researched to keep the harmine from falling out. Turns out this is absolutely necessary as the velcro that attaches to the back of the Garmin and then to the carrying device just doesn't work. It's just too loose and almost any rough movement will cause the Garmin to fall off. Maybe a Garmin Mini would be better as it's a bit lighter? Itโ€ฆ

The toggle switch breaks easily and the cable is cheap junk!

Zip ties and cups - shit! The cable has a latch that allows the harness to be shortened or lengthened and when it arrived the latch in the box was broken. The box was not damaged. Returned, bought from another seller. This one came intact but as soon as I started pressing and using the toggle switch it broke again! Also, the rope is a very cheap nylon junk that snags and breaks easily with velcro. See attached picture of the broken switch and frayed wire. It's almost straight out of the box and

Works great with new inReach and older models

A must have if you travel with inReach and want to carry it on your shoulder. Velcro straps help you attach it to your backpack's shoulder straps, and it stayed on my Zpacks Arc Haul perfectly. The Velcro that holds the inReach clip to the shoulder piece isn't the strongest, but it's enough to keep it where it needs to be. To reattach, simply press firmly against your shoulder. I'm deducting a star because the cable installed on this unit is very bulky and gets caught on the velcro. It alsoโ€ฆ

Failed too soon. for car mounts

The concept of this device is great. It's a fantastic idea to be able to keep the InReach handy, be able to quickly take it off, view it and then put it back on without having to use two hands to reattach it to your pack. Unfortunately, the function is missing. Here's what happened to mine. The first time I tried to remove the InReach from its mount, the hook material detached from the mount attached to the InReach. Since then I've had to make sure my thumb touches the material before takingโ€ฆ
