Review on πŸš€ Effortless Control: OZ-USA Anchor Remote Windlass Wireless Switch Boat Sail Trim Controller by George Saunier

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I would buy again, not the best but great value for money. Might buy another one as a backup.

First I'll tell you what makes it good. He weighs the anchor well when he's at the bow of my boat. It has a key ring hole on the top of the remote, there is a bracket, it seems well sealed, affordable but the winch remote is cheaper but compared to the winch it lets chains in on my Lewmar 700 winch through about quarter speed. 3 different winch remotes only allow the chain to be pulled out about 6 inches every 2 seconds. It is fetched at normal speed. Maybe he's just letting it go slowly to make small adjustments. In fact, I'm still throwing the anchor off the helm. My wife can use the remote control while I anchor and avoid either current or boat problems while hauling anchor. This is by far the best remote compared to some here and the Badlands winch console. Although there is no protective switch cover, the mount is comparatively good. I used a 3m double lock velcro instead of a hole in the dash to attach. Another remote control is also attached with Velcro in the top electronics cabinet in case someone drops it in a drink in an emergency. It's also slippery and small so I can add something to the surface - maybe sand color. For now I added a 1/8 inch line tied with a half hook knot braided to 1ft to give him something to hold on to if he tumbles onto the deck/water .

Pros
  • practical thing
Cons
  • almost never
