Review on πŸ“» Adafruit RFM95W LoRa Radio Transceiver Breakout - Optimized for 868 or 915 MHz by Kelly Porter

It's great fun with them!

I liked them a lot. I soldered some of them with a uf.l connector and the others with a SMA board edge connector. Both work fine. The benefit of this particular board is that it has a level switch so it can handle 3.3VDC or 5VDC devices and it has its own voltage regulator so you don't have to worry about that. When sending it can load Arduino, ESP8266 or ESP32 which you can use. If I had to give a negative comment, I would say that there is no way to bypass the regulator, so I can use them with an overall performance of 3.3. VDC DC-DC module to avoid additional losses due to the built-in LDO regulator. With an 8db gain antenna I was able to get over 10 miles with an expansion factor of 7 and almost 30 with SF12 in my test.

  • SX1276 LoRa based module with SPI interface
