The issue with the microphone in speakerphone mode drove me to the depths of my wallet. While I recognize that not everyone has a need for this capability, I find video conferencing to be an invaluable means of communication. It doesn't matter if you're having a business meeting or a family reunion via WhatsApp. I'm sure you make use of this function occasionally as well. The problem is that your conversation partner will only partially or never hear you. In this case, we will only hear the syllables of words. Disassembling a connected object will be a formidable challenge. Neither my iPhone nor any other mobile device is directly affected by this issue. This has been an issue with the 12th series and may be addressed in a future firmware update. This is still an issue, at least as of 14.2.1, and it's very frustrating. Users have reported this issue on the iPhone support forum, but there is currently no workaround. Link:
