I was hoping to use these anchors to attach 3/4" batten strips to the wall but the screws are too short to fit the pins catch when thicker material is attached. These anchors can be useful for metal staples, but I wouldn't intend to fasten anything half an inch thick with them. a little more, and the hook mechanism will be broken, and in one case, the lever, which is attached to the back of the drywall, will break off. This was when I carefully hand tightened, so expect some of them not to fail during installation. (Fortunately, unlike drum bolts, they can be removed and replaced.)
