I bought these bulbs for my mother's dining room chandelier from the 80's. They used 150W incandescent bulbs, which reduced their energy consumption by 90%. They're also brighter than older bulbs and don't get as hot. They look great in a chandelier. The only complaint is that they REALLY flicker when you dim them and other sources (like washing machine, dishwasher) are drawing the same power. They fade and flicker as the washing machine or dishwasher runs until the system reaches a new equilibrium. In general, we will probably only leave them to save power. We simply will not run large devices on the same circuit when the company ends :)
