I bought my first two years ago and it has greatly reduced food burning. I clip it to my clothes so I can take it with me on chores and not worry about not hearing it when I go to the mailbox and chat with my neighbor (yes, that still happens!). It's used fairly frequently and my dogs hear a lot less swearing in the kitchen. For $10, even if it breaks today, I feel like I got more than my money's worth. I just bought one to give as a gift!
