This is a decent blender for the price. Parts are available on Amazon when they run out after a few years, so don't be like me and throw away your last one thinking it can't be fixed with a new grommet or blades. Maybe! He makes and mixes delicious cocktails and has no problem with ice. If it's not crushing ice, either reduce the speed or turn it off and shake the bin and it will work. Please remember that most of the drive mechanisms are real glass and metal parts. For the price, this is a great deal. Any blender can have problems, but this blender gets mostly good reviews. If you don't add enough liquid to the blender, the blade will spin but will not blend ice or smoothie fruit. Here's how to do it right. Remember folks, this is a very inexpensive blender that will hopefully last for years with proper use. Pour milk or liquid first, and then add half the fruit. Put the top on and start the SLOW mix. When you see the ingredients begin to swirl, remove the lid and add the ice cubes one at a time. As you add each ice cube, close the lid for a second until it breaks up. It's easy once you do it a few times. Please do not put your hands in the blender when blending. Add the remaining fruits and increase the speed. Blend for 30-60 seconds and voila, great smoothies. I make amazing smoothies every morning and night. Tip: Add 3 tablespoons of organic golden linseed with fruit. It has more healthy omega-3s than smelly fish oil and is far safer than fish from our filthy ocean that Japan kindly irradiated for us.
