I replaced the valve in my CO2 gas tank with this and was able to almost fill my stream with gas from a CO2 tank I bought from a local welding shop. (Requires a separate adapter to connect the CO2 bottle to the soda bottle.) After filling was complete, the Sodastream weighed 1020g, which is not far off its maximum fill weight of 1070g. To achieve that weight, set I put the soda can in the freezer for a while (a couple of hours) and then poured it into a can of fizzy water which I inverted. I'm not sure how long to refrigerate the canister for maximum fill (I actually forgot it was in the freezer), but out of curiosity I filled it at first without putting it in the freezer. After filling it weighed 810 grams. So the cooling of the soda bottle gave very good results. I will buy another one of these. It took some time to get it from abroad but it was worth it. It's nice to set up the system so I don't have to pay for expensive refills. Take that soda stream!
