At first I did not want to buy this lens. I thought that with such a range of focal lengths, the picture would not be very good, gray and soapy. And the dimensions were not at all pleasing. But then I bought it anyway - I needed a zoom, and preferably with weather protection. Of the weatherproof zooms, this one suited me the most. And he pleasantly surprised me! The picture turned out to be very personal.Contrary to my fears - sharp and excellentcomlors. Plus, it's a great stabilizer. Saves even where the fastest lenses in this system do not fit. The waterproofing is also good. I did not try it in the rain, but immediately after the purchase I shot it under wet snow. Nothing happened to the lens - as expected. Ofcomurse it's dark. But with such a range of focal lengths, it is hardly possible to provide acceptable sizes if the lens is made faster. So I don't see it as a disadvantage. Dimensions and weight, as it turned out, do not interfere so much. I still carry the device in a small photo bag, in which it also fits with this lens - so the dimensions do not interfere at all. I donโt notice the mass at all -compared to the lighter zoom 18-55, this one is only 180 grams heavier. Bonus - an impressive view :) When people see a person with a lens of this size, they immediately think: "Well, this is definitely a real photographer! " :) Here is an example of shooting at telephoto: Here is an example of how a stabilizer works. Shutter speed 1/6 sec. from the hands of 18 mm, everything is sharp. Try shooting with this shutter speed at XF18mmF2: Here is a shot at ISO 6400: There are other pictures from this lens in my. Photos. It seems to be one of my most used ones:
