Review on ๐Ÿƒ Saucony Triumph 18 Women's Running Shoes by Dylan Deng

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Probably a good shoe for many women, but not for me.

Triumph 18 not good for me. I have two pairs of Triumph 17s and I LOVE them! Why? I am an overweight middle aged woman who uses these shoes for fitness walking and whenever I am on my feet most of the day. The 17's give me all the cushioning/shock absorption my weight and aching right knee require while being very resilient/flexible to help me progress in my gait cycle. The heel fit in the 17's is the best shoe I've ever had for my narrow heels - no rise for a very secure fit. In the Triumph 18 the cushioning is noticeably stiffer and something about the shoe's transitions through the gait cycle seems to have changed - not the easy, natural ride I get from the 17. Finally, for me, the heel fit on 18s isn't as reliable as it is on 17s - the heel lift is noticeable and annoying. I have an advantage for 18's: The forefoot feels the same as 17's - a very good thing as it's wide enough to allow my forefoot to spread naturally as I move forward which helps the foot naturally way to shrink. Shock through the gait cycle. From what I've read Saucony seems to have corrected my complaints about 18s in the latest iteration of this shoe: the Triumph 19. Fingers crossed that 19s will look like 17s. I will be ordering a pair soon.
