Lower quality stabilizing foam.
I was very happy with this stair stabilizer but after 5 uses the foam on the elbows cracks and falls off. I have only used this stabilizer against regular house siding and brick. The foam rubber was ripped and torn, and now all you probably have to do is put electrical tape on your elbows and it's going to look bad. I'm not very happy with the complex purchase, but it's stable. Overall a good design but whoever chose the foam for this stabilizer needs to swap with the foam. I'm thinking of returning it.
