Review on πŸ“¦ Flirc Raspberry Pi 4 Case (Silver): A Stylish and Durable Protective Shell for Your Device by Mario Bullard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fans fail, heatsinks don't.

This is my second Flirc case. I love her. They fit in your pocket when you need to move them. They are good at challenging heat. I modified it a bit. Instead of the included thermal pad, I use thermal paste and a thin copper heatsink. I bought a set of 5 radiators of different thicknesses. I found one I wanted to use by placing it on the heatsink, inserting the PI, making sure it was fully seated, and gently shaking it back and forth while gently pressing on it. I knew I'd found the right one when the case was still assembled and the heatsink didn't move when I shook it. Then I took it apart and applied thermal paste to the heatsink, put a copper heatsink on top and slowly lowered it until it clicked into place, then I applied thermal paste to the CPU and slowly placed the Pi in place. Then insert 4 screws and your set is for life. AMAZING RESULTS. An uncased T Pi running in a server closet (it's hot, probably 80-90 degrees) was idling at 55C during regular hours. I plugged everything back in, cranked it up to 2k with 4 volts, and ran "stress" for 30 minutes. It has never exceeded 72 degrees Celsius. I then turned on the burner for 10 minutes and sometime towards the end it went up to 81C but I was impressed that it held the temperature just as well as it did. I only use this as part of my network system, Pi-hole controller and Ubiquiti so I don't overclock the GPU. This case is perfect for everything I need and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
