Review on P-touch PTD210 Label Maker: Easy-to-Use with One-Touch Keys, Multiple Fonts, 27 Templates - White, 1 Pack by Jeff Jackson

Good label printer but one major complaint remains (excessive use of ribbon)

I have several Brother label printers, the relatively old PT-80 and PT-1010. Both have more complaints about wasted ribbon on the front of the label, but Brother doesn't address this issue. Considering how expensive the tape is, users would appreciate this problem being solved! But that's never the case. However, it is a good labeler. You'd better keep a guide nearby because if you ever want to use any of the decorative options you'll need that as a reference to get an easier/better idea of what you need to print. Of course, you don't want to waste the ribbon print and hate it. I checked out the manual to see what's up with it, but after playing with it a few times and printing out some test labels, I quickly got used to it. But still needs/prefers a booklet to choose a frame design. This label printer is really essential if you want to print cute labels, for bags, jars, selling plants, but for labels with only the main font, it really isn't. not necessary. I love giving extra plants to friends and family and the cute printed labels are a really nice touch. Anyone from Brother reading this review: PLEASE list the waste on the front of the label on your future label printers! And you can adjust the unused length at the end of the label (press LABEL button, select MARGIN, select NARROW, although by selecting NARROW you give the false impression that the beginning of the tape edge also disappears, which isn't the case is).

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Big and bulky
