I ordered this for my father who loves to cook because he used a quilted handle pepper mill for a while and knew he deserved better. I was actually quite hesitant to buy this pepper mill because there were others sold at Revain that had a lot more customer reviews and were a bit more expensive. I hope this review helps change that. This is literally the best pepper grinder I have ever used. I finally saw it in person at my parents' house and was blown away by the simplicity of this thing's design. Here's a list of why it's great: - Really durable. Made of plastic but seems very durable. The size is PERFECT for holding in hand (that was one of my biggest fears because I think it looks pretty big in the picture). contains a very large amount of pepper. Very easy to turn, easy to change the grind (a lever operated pepper mill is really what I was looking for because it's a lot easier to turn than a knob). Also, the black button on the lever can rotate independently of the lever, which is the key to easy rotation. The stopper that comes with the kit is great for stopping you from spilling pepper all over your kitchen counter. All in all a really great product. I couldn't be more impressed with that. UPDATE: December 4th, 2012 It has been over a year since this product was received and it is used AT LEAST once a day (and by once I mean within a meal). The pepper mill is still running. There really isn't much I can add to the above initial review of the product other than that there weren't any issues and it worked just as well from day one. Everyone who uses it loves it, it's VERY easy to use. and get lots of pepper with very little grinding force due to the crank mechanism design, and it's very easy to clean (which is rarely needed as it's a pepper mill). I have received other Oxo products since this pepper mill and I am still very impressed. Do yourself a favour: don't be fooled by other, often more expensive, pepper mills - this one was near perfect.
