Review on Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L USM Wide Angle Lens for Canon SLR Cameras - White Box (Brand New in Bulk Packaging) by Avut Deesri ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

Fully reveals its capabilities on FF. I used it for a long time, for several years on the first penny. I bought for 40-45k (!), I don’t remember anymore. Because of its versatility, it stood almost constantly. Volume and color reproduction after 2.8 zooms is like turning on the light in your room. Been traveling - no problem. Unfortunately, when I bought a car, I needed money, I donated a camera and glasses. Before buying, they checked the glass, they did not find any dust or grains of sand inside. Now I'm back to it again. After several years, constantly remembering this device and looking for the possibility of a replacement, I realized that I did not want anything else. Sigma 35 Art - problems with focus, Zeiss 35 Distagon - only a manual, 35LII does not attract because of the price, dimensions and weight and a small number of reviews. There is chrome on the open hole, but it takes some effort. If you shoot correctly, then in terms of the totality of characteristics (picture, focusing speed and assembly), nothing is better. Excellent, proven glass, only it will have to be more expensive to buy it. Scuffs with careful use can be avoided for a long time.

Pros
  • All conceivable qualities: volume, color, pattern, aperture ratio, sharpness, weight, beautiful lens hood, all-weather capability, speed. In skillful hands, sharpness is achieved throughout the field, minimal chrome, pleasant venetting and background blur. The most important thing is that the drawing is alive, has depth and plasticity. Quality is important - versatility: you can shoot slowly, and because of the fast focus, you can instantly catch the action.
Cons
  • Within the limits of the objective physical characteristics of optics, they are practically absent.

I have two favorite lenses, these are 35 and 85. I use them in conjunction with canon 6d. I am very pleased with the focal length and the picture. Great for indoor shooting and reporting at a short distance (2-5 meters). I recently filmed a sporting event directly on the site. 70-200 remained in the bag :)

Probably, as I read it myself, one of the best that canon has in general .

I changed 16-35 f.4 to this fix, because I realized that I almost never use such a wide angle even when shooting landscapes. In conjunction with the aperture ratio and the figure of 35 fixes, there was nothing to think about. Happiness.

Some pros: Sharp, contrasty, colors are good, focus is fast, picture is beautiful, well made. Works great in the dark. Got cons: Price and legs have to run. Follow the geometry of the image, it is already wide enough. Expensive, should cost twice as much.
