UPDATE (6/16/17): It looks like the problem wasn't with the microphone/sound card connector. I used a professional mic with a 10ft cable with a TRS connector, as I was working to consolidate usable desk space I ordered a smaller mic that took up a small fraction of the space (eg .the size of a marble compared to the size of a ball). Orange). I connected and everything works. I even tested with my headset and it worked fine too. My friends disagree that it sounds cleaner than my old card. Proven bit rate and sound quality: both passed with flying colours. Kubuntu 16.04 x64 Linux Kernel 4.8.0-XI bought it because it claimed Linux support and has Linux support. I would also like to thank Kelsey from the Ugreen customer service team, they sent an email willing to exchange the unit as defective with no questions asked (as long as I used the correct TRS mic jack). ---- original post --- this is exactly what i was looking for to minimize things hanging from my computer. I'm using Linux and the sound card works great. I can't seem to get the mic to work on Ubuntu 16.04. I'm not sure if the port is bad or if it's a driver issue. Everything is recognized, but I have no audio input. For the price it's not a big loss for me but I'm really disappointed. I will continue to use it as it is still a USB 3.0 hub. I'll come back and update the review when I can figure out how to get the mic port working.
